School Rules and Regulations

The Rules and Regulations of this leadership school are simple and set in place to ensure your safe and effective training. The School CO has final say so on all instances of student discipline and drops. This school is for the Young Marines to come and learn how to be a more effective leader in their unit and and as a Young Marine gets older. these lessons are also designed for the Young Marines to take back to their unit and utilize what that they have learned while attending this course. The courses in this school are academically challenging this is not a place to go for vacation or play time CO's sending their Young Marines to this course have assured the School CO their Young Marines are Mature enough to handle this school. We will utilize the Temecula Valley Young Marines IEP to help Young Marines that need that extra help it is the responsibility of the parents to ensure the school Adjutant knows their Young Marine has an IEP in their normal school. This is not Recruit training this school is a professional school all students will be treated as a Young Marine not a recruit. I expect every Young Marine to represent their unit with the utmost pride and motivation.

Staff Rules and Regs:

  1. All adult staff members must be registered with the National HQ's (no exceptions).
  2. Any Special or guest instructors must go through the School CO before talking to the Young Marines.
  3. All staff members will remember this is a professional School not recruit training.
  4. It is the responsibility of Adult staff instructors to ensure they prepare themselves for their periods of instruction.
  5. Discipline will be handled by the school CO, immediate action can be handled by any staff member to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
  6. All Staff members will share the responsibility of the Officer of the Day billet.
  7. At no time will staff members smoke, dip or chew while around the Young Marines.
  8. No Staff member will consume or buy Alcoholic beverages at any time while instructing at this school.
  9. All staff members will remember we are the guests of the United States Marine Corps during this time and that they will act in a professional manner at all times when utilizing and facility or talking to Military personnel.
  10. All Young Marine Adult contact shall be handled as prescribed in the National Young Marines Registered adult manual.
  11. All student tests will be scored by an adult staff member.
  12. Staff members will remember that not every student is the same when learning the Battalion will utilize their IEP for the students to maximize the Young Marines learning abilities.
  13. All minor infractions from a student will be forwarded to the Young Marines Commanding Officer for disposition all Major infractions will be forwarded to the National HQ's and the Young Marines Commanding Officer.
  14. At no time will Young Marines be left out of sight from Adult Instructors.
  15. Young Marines will not engage in conversation or work with Military personnel unless Adult staff members are present.
  16. Every staff member will ensure the Young Marines Health and Safety comes first as well as their safety and security and that of the adult instructors as well.

Student Rules and Regs:

  1. All students will remain in their racks at nigh unless standing watch, making a head call or on duty.
  2. A student can be expelled from the school for the following reasons:
    • Cheating
    • Integrity violations
    • stealing
    • Assault (physical or verbal)
    • Sexual harassment or discrimination
    • Sneaking out of the barracks or away from the camp
    • Refusal to train (this includes DNCO and Firewatch)
    • Disrespect towards a registered Adult, Assistant Young Marine or another Young Marines
  3. All students will stand Firewatch and DNCO.
  4. Students will always travel in pairs.
  5. every student is a leader not a follower.
  6. Students will take showers every night.
  7. Students will not talk to any Military personnel unless accompanied by an Adult staff member.
  8. Each student is responsible for his or her actions.
  9. All Students will be prepared each day for class.
  10. The students will obey the National HQ's Hands off policy.
  11. There is no Male Female bonding so if your boyfriend or girlfriend is at this course with you, you can chill with them back at your unit not here thank you.

 

Young Marine Instructor Rules and Regs:

  1. All Young Marine Instructors must have completed the National HQ's ALS, and the Battalion Mandated AYMI course held at their Company level.
  2. Young Marine Instructors must have successfully instructed at a or Battalion level recruit training class.
  3. Young Marine Instructors must be between the Ages of 14 and up and have Attended SLS to instruct JLS, and ALS to instruct SLS.
  4. Young Marine Instructors must be recommended by their Commanding Officer, each Young Marine Instructor must forward a resume, reason why they wish to be an instructor.
  5. All Young Marine Instructors will maintain a professional relationship with every Young Marine.
  6. Young Marine Instructors will each share the responsibility of SDNCO.
  7. Young Marine Instructors will ensure they are prepared for their classes.
  8. All staff members will remember we are the guest of the United States Marine Corps during this time and that they will act in a professional manner at all times when utilizing and facility or talking to Military personnel.
  9. Young Marine Instructors are not adults all final decisions or movements will come from the Adult staff.
  10. Young Marine Instructors will remain Motivated and dedicated to this course and the students.
  11. The Health and Safety and academics of your students comes first.
  12. Young Marine Instructors will present themselves as a leader at all times.
